I've been reading a lot lately about morality and listening to debates about morality to prepare for a longer article on the subject, but I am increasingly coming to accept a very simple definition of what makes an act moral or immoral. That definition is:
- If an actor knowingly fails to respect the quality of life of another when taking action, then the action is immoral
- If an actor alters their course of action to respect the quality of life of another, then the action is moral.
Note: most actions are neither moral nor immoral.
